The most important thing: eyelids heal dry

Unlike brows, which are cared for “wet” (rinsing with water and petroleum jelly), eyelids heal dry. This is a fundamental difference to remember.

The pigmented skin must not be washed with soap, toner or makeup-removing milk. And most importantly — don’t apply any cream to it.

Daily eyelid care

  • Wipe the eyelids with a damp cotton pad — daily, gently
  • Don’t apply any cream or ointment to the pigmented area
  • Don’t use soap, toner or milk to remove makeup on the treated skin
  • Don’t rub or scratch the eyelids, even when they itch

What to expect in the first days

The skin may be red and swollen after the treatment. Eyelid swelling can last up to 3 days after the treatment — this is normal.

After eyelid pigmentation, temporary dryness of the eyeball may occur, along with a feeling of tightness, stinging, excessive dryness and itching of the skin. These are signs of healing, not a cause for concern.

How the colour changes

The next day after the treatment the pigmentation may be darker than you expect — the pigment is still close to the surface of the skin. After 7–10 days the colour lightens by 30–50% and reaches its final shade.

Don’t try to lighten or wash off the pigment yourself — it may damage the skin and distort the result.

What to avoid during healing

  • Creams, ointments and cosmetics on the eyelids
  • Eye makeup (mascara, pencil, shadows) until fully healed
  • Sauna, swimming pool and intense sweating
  • Rubbing and scratching the eyelids
  • Sun without protection — after healing, use a UV filter

Frequently asked questions

Do you put cream on the eyelids after the treatment?

No. Eyelid healing happens dry — the most important thing is not to apply any cream to the skin. The eyelid is only wiped with a damp cotton pad, without soap, toner or makeup-removing milk.

How long does the swelling take to go down after eyelid pigmentation?

Eyelid swelling can last up to 3 days after the treatment. Temporary dryness of the eyeball may also occur — this is a normal reaction to the treatment.

Does eyelid pigmentation darken after the treatment?

Yes. The next day after the treatment the colour may be darker, and after 7–10 days it lightens by 30–50%, reaching its final shade. Don't wash off or lighten the pigment yourself.

When can I do eye makeup again?

Wait with eye makeup (mascara, pencil, shadows) until the skin has fully healed — usually around 7–10 days, once the flaking has come off. Earlier makeup risks infection and disrupted healing.
